SMEs and the self-employed can apply for and access, if they meet the requirements, to loans guaranteed by the State approved through Royal Decree-Law 8/2020 of March 26 through the Official Credit Institute (ICO) to address the impact caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
In the event that any company would like to request a loan from a financial institution with this guarantee, it is very important that they know that they are NOT obliged to take out any insurance to access these loans and that, in the event that the financial institution imposes it – in contravention of Article 192.2.j of Royal Decree-Law 3/2020 of November 4, which prohibits the direct or indirect imposition of the conclusion of an insurance contract – they should immediately inform us of this.
